First off, this quest was amazing ...if only i could use my gun....also this is a great way to max vanguard, after i did the first time, i went and did it again and this time i ran through the first area sraight to the golem, and it took around 5min all together to kill golem including running to him, so 2k vanguard per 5min sounds pretty nice to me

When Guild Wars 2 goes live the devs should totally be using the Commando model for their ingame appearances, go A.R.E.N.A. NET secret commando!

Not as far as I can recall. Anet tends to be very careful in not tying themselves to saying things like that.

I am not a big fan of the Solo quests, this one was a cool one, but not one that I will keep repeating tho.

Love the Commando and the skills!

Yeah....we know....we've been talking about it.....


And I think I'm going to settle down in the "why so much work for 1 day content?" camp for right now. It seems like a lot to set up, write, model, get approves, and code for such a short period of time.

Then again, my priorities and the Live Team's have rarely lined up.

Omg, My prayers have been anwsered! A friend of mine just got a Riot Shield drop from the Golem boss!



I haven't heard of any other drops yet, but I don't think anyone knows yet. This easily is the best looking shield in the game. (Off farming Riot Shields, pz)

This year's April Fools is GW2 hype. They probably convinced the big wigs that it was basically advertising, when people would post on sites "OMG look at Anet's april fools!" much as they have marveled at Blizzard in the past. More effort probably went into the animations on those GW2 skill videos than this quest.

Corporal Bane will be stationed at Embark Beach until around noon PDT on Monday, so you have the whole weekend to help him save the future.

Seems kinda strange to me that that shield isn't casting a shadow. The "elemental" sword is. Hmmmmm.....

Reminds me of how everyone claimed the mini polarbears were fakes too.. hehe
but I guess we'll never know if this was real or not

But seriously....a BMP-sized mission for April Fools seems like a huge waste of resources. Not that the writing took long, but the coding, skills, and approvals probably wasted a week or two (at least).
